SCIENCE for MONKS

creating science learning communities with tibetan buddhist monastics since 2001

Tibetan Monastic Science Leaders

2nd Cohort

The second cohort (28 monks, 6 nuns) will work in local leadership groups to further their own science learning and share science with their community. These groups and leaders will be supported by 8 weeks (300 hours) of professional development over 3 workshops (May 2011, January 2012, and January 2013). The second cohort of science leaders will work with the first cohort to develop science education programming at their monasteries, create lesson plans, create a traveling science exhibition, and write articles on the intersection of Buddhism and science.
